About MACS

Baltimore MoversIn the spring of 2005, Mid Atlantic Corporate Services Inc., affectionately known as MACS, was founded by Duane Arbuthnot and Mike Buxton. MACS Movers started as a result of wanting to provide better services to our customers in all aspects of furniture handling and the moving business than what was currently out there from a single source. Each customer would receive the piece of mind knowing that their project, whatever the size, would get the personal attention and expertise that only MACS could provide utilizing the our vast experiences.

From the beginning it was our intention to provide prompt, qualified, properly equipped and friendly personnel on all moving jobs. All personnel assigned to the project are MACS uniformed employees. Each of our supervisors has at least five years of experience. This allows for a client to develop a relationship with team assigned to their project.

Even though MACS started out primarily a commercial moving company it quickly evolved into providing many other services for our clients.  System furniture installation, furniture touch-up, warehousing, and used and new furniture sales are only a few of the other services available now.  MACS continues to try to provide the services our clients need. If we don’t or can’t provide it we will try to refer them to someone who does.  MACS does not always want to be the biggest, but we try to be the best at what we do.

Michael Buxton has worked within the furniture industry since 1976.  He owned Business Interiors Inc., a contract furniture dealership in St. Louis Missouri until moving to the Baltimore-Washington area in 1999.  He then became the General Manager for Interior Elements a Knoll contract furniture dealership.  There he met Duane Arbuthnot and through those relationships they convinced him to join Ace World Wide Inc. in the Commercial Moving Division. After a few years they decided to venture out on their own and start  Mid Atlantic Corporate Service (MACS) for short.
